Myth: African American women don't enjoy sex; they just respond.
Reality: African American women are no more likely to not enjoy sex
than any other group of women. The origin of this myth most likely dates
back to the days of slavery when servants were often forced to perform
sex on demand. Since these experiences were violent and demeaning, many
African American women were encouraged to believe that sex was not a
pleasurable or satisfying experience. Today, many African American women
have rejected the outdated notions that "good girls" don't enjoy sex,
and other traditional taboos associated with oral sex.
